About the role

  • Lead Systems Engineer responsible for Instrumentation and Control systems for BWRX-300. Focused on system integration, validation, and requirements management with a regulated background.

Responsibilities

  • conducts component and product integration
  • manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
  • drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing
  • responsible for defining product requirements for the module/component/subcontractors and partners teams
  • manages interface between components and execution organizations
  • responsible for driving CTQ/Risk trades within the teams designing the components
  • manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system
  • developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
  • provides informal guidance to new team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 4 years of experience in systems engineering for highly regulated industry
  • eligibility to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government
  • reported in office to the Markham office 3 days a week
  • experience in performing independent, or preferably team based, system design or technical reviews including interfacing with requirements management
  • Instrumentation and Controls system and / or platform systems engineering experience
  • Nuclear system engineering experience
  • Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience
  • solves technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving
  • experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
