Lead Engineer for Mechanical Systems at GE Vernova developing systems for nuclear power projects. Focus on design, integration, and regulatory compliance within the industry standards.
Responsibilities
Perform system design activities including system design specifications, FMEA evaluations, and support licensing activities.
Perform oversight design activities including piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), logic diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, equipment sizing, detection/suppression system design documents.
Manage product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.
Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
Conduct component and product integration across multiple components and products for maximum performance and operability.
Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity.
Liaise with customers, in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management.
Interface with cross-functional teams and departments necessary to complete assigned system design activities.
Improve areas of project execution and department management through lean methodology and Design to Cost principles.
Support development efforts for new products and new technology.
Undertake necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 4 years of experience in an Engineering role regulated industry
Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage the demands of multiple tasks and projects
Strong Leadership skills
Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)
Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
Experience and/or interest in nuclear power industry
Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
SRO license qualifications or plant experience desired
