About the role

  • Lead Engineer for Mechanical Systems at GE Vernova developing systems for nuclear power projects. Focus on design, integration, and regulatory compliance within the industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system design activities including system design specifications, FMEA evaluations, and support licensing activities.
  • Perform oversight design activities including piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), logic diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, equipment sizing, detection/suppression system design documents.
  • Manage product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.
  • Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
  • Conduct component and product integration across multiple components and products for maximum performance and operability.
  • Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity.
  • Liaise with customers, in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams and departments necessary to complete assigned system design activities.
  • Improve areas of project execution and department management through lean methodology and Design to Cost principles.
  • Support development efforts for new products and new technology.
  • Undertake necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an Engineering role regulated industry
  • Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage the demands of multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)
  • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
  • Experience and/or interest in nuclear power industry
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
  • SRO license qualifications or plant experience desired
  • Rad waste experience preferred
