Software Test Specialist validating existing and new functionalities of Genetec's Security Center platform. Collaborating within agile teams to ensure quality in physical security solutions.
Responsibilities
Validate new and existing features of Genetec's flagship product, Security Center, a unified platform for physical security (IP video, access control and automatic license plate recognition) for small to large organizations, working within a Kanban and DevOps approach
Plan, oversee and execute testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards
Perform various types of tests: functional, integration, system, regression, performance and load/scalability testing
Analyze, document and track identified defects
Actively participate in the software delivery process
Contribute to the development and improvement of testing standards
Collaborate closely with development teams and provide recommendations regarding usability and testability
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience
Experience configuring PCs and troubleshooting various operating systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
Skills in test planning and design, documenting test scenarios, and executing software in multi-tier environments
Motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical skills and/or a strong interest in detailed work and troubleshooting
Ability to perform performance analysis and monitor large-scale distributed systems using tools such as Perfmon, Telegraf and Grafana
Excellent knowledge of Windows and Windows Server
Good knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
Knowledge of testing methodologies
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Knowledge of PowerShell and/or another scripting language
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware
Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written (this position requires interactions with our international colleagues and clients)
