About the role
- Software Test Specialist validating existing and new functionalities of Genetec's Security Center platform. Collaborating within agile teams to ensure quality in physical security solutions.
Responsibilities
- Validate new and existing features of Genetec's flagship product, Security Center, a unified platform for physical security (IP video, access control and automatic license plate recognition) for small to large organizations, working within a Kanban and DevOps approach
- Plan, oversee and execute testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards
- Perform various types of tests: functional, integration, system, regression, performance and load/scalability testing
- Analyze, document and track identified defects
- Actively participate in the software delivery process
- Contribute to the development and improvement of testing standards
- Collaborate closely with development teams and provide recommendations regarding usability and testability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience configuring PCs and troubleshooting various operating systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
- Skills in test planning and design, documenting test scenarios, and executing software in multi-tier environments
- Motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and/or a strong interest in detailed work and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform performance analysis and monitor large-scale distributed systems using tools such as Perfmon, Telegraf and Grafana
- Excellent knowledge of Windows and Windows Server
- Good knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
- Knowledge of testing methodologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of PowerShell and/or another scripting language
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written (this position requires interactions with our international colleagues and clients)
