About the role

Systems Engineer designing, developing, and testing Instrumentation and Control systems for safety critical functions in BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. Collaborating with various engineering disciplines for effective integration and execution.

Responsibilities

conducts component and product integration
manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system
responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams
manages interface between components and execution organizations
responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components
manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system
developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
in-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
4 years of experience in systems engineering for highly regulated industry
experience in performing independent or preferably team based, system design or technical reviews including interfacing with requirements management, independent verification and validation
Instrumentation and Controls system and / or platform systems engineering experience
Nuclear system engineering experience
Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience
solves technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving
experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design
excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to articulate clearly
