About the role

  • Systems Engineer designing, developing, and testing Instrumentation and Control systems for safety critical functions in BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. Collaborating with various engineering disciplines for effective integration and execution.

Responsibilities

  • conducts component and product integration
  • manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
  • drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system
  • responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams
  • manages interface between components and execution organizations
  • responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components
  • manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system
  • developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
  • uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
  • in-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
  • uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 4 years of experience in systems engineering for highly regulated industry
  • experience in performing independent or preferably team based, system design or technical reviews including interfacing with requirements management, independent verification and validation
  • Instrumentation and Controls system and / or platform systems engineering experience
  • Nuclear system engineering experience
  • Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience
  • solves technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving
  • experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design
  • excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to articulate clearly
