About the role
- Systems Engineer designing, developing, and testing Instrumentation and Control systems for safety critical functions in BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. Collaborating with various engineering disciplines for effective integration and execution.
Responsibilities
- conducts component and product integration
- manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
- drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system
- responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams
- manages interface between components and execution organizations
- responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components
- manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system
- developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
- uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
- in-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
- uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
- 4 years of experience in systems engineering for highly regulated industry
- experience in performing independent or preferably team based, system design or technical reviews including interfacing with requirements management, independent verification and validation
- Instrumentation and Controls system and / or platform systems engineering experience
- Nuclear system engineering experience
- Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience
- solves technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving
- experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design
- excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to articulate clearly
