About the role

  • DERMS Solutions Specialist deploying GE GridOS DERMS software for utility clients. Designing integrations, automating data workflows, and leading requirements, testing, and client delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with utility clients to understand the impacts of distributed energy resources on distribution systems
  • Understand client business needs and align solutions to meet and exceed those needs
  • Participate in requirements management and lead creation of approved, traceable requirements
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Solution Specialists on solution architecture
  • Define success criteria and author solution diagrams
  • Deploy GE GridOS DERMS solutions to client environments
  • Prepare network models, load and generation forecasts, planning scenarios, and generation cost data
  • Create scripts and automate data processing systems
  • Convert and validate CIM distribution network models and powerflow results
  • Lead custom adapter, connector, API, and microservice design and development
  • Deliver integrated solutions using full-stack development, backend services, middleware, and presentation layers
  • Collaborate with Service Engineering to deliver custom work on time and within budget
  • Respond to client inquiries, bugs, and product ideas and file Product team tickets
  • Lead project scenario simulations and client-specific testing
  • Lead factory and site acceptance testing
  • Debug software bugs and document issues
  • Automate solution processes and workflows using API documentation
  • Analyze project data and results
  • Report project outcomes and present findings to stakeholders
  • Design and document solutions, requirements, acceptance criteria, and features
  • Define user acceptance testing processes, test cases, and progress metrics
  • Work with Project Managers to standardize processes and deliverables
  • Create business cases and product requirements, including regulatory needs where applicable
  • Develop demonstrations, user acceptance documentation, and training modules
  • Train utility clients and end users on GE GridOS DERMS
  • Identify delivery risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Support sales activities with technical demos and identify potential upsell opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Solutions team to expand solution consulting and delivery practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar program, with a focus on power systems, or relevant experience
  • 2+ years relevant work experience
  • Strong electricity industry knowledge
  • Strong analysis skills, including requirements elicitation and management
  • Ability to trace requirements to design specifications and test plans/cases
  • Experience automating processes and utilizing or building scripting solutions
  • Software development experience and strong understanding of the SDLC
  • Experience integrating custom solutions into products
  • Familiarity with emerging energy industry trends and implications for utility clients in DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management
  • Hands-on experience deploying solutions to the AWS cloud; certification a plus
  • Enterprise software full-stack development experience, including backend development, scripting, Java, Python, and database connector experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Genuine interest in new tools and technology and ability to learn new software quickly
