About the role
- Plant Operator handling waste receiving, processing, disposal, vehicle loading, and machinery operations at GFL Environmental’s Bailieboro facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day plant operations involving waste receiving, handling, processing, and disposal
- Receive bulk liquids/solids and containerized client waste
- Load and unload vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks, and van trailers
- Operate plant machinery and assist with general maintenance
- Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipments for transport
- Follow company standard operating procedures
- Notify the Shift Supervisor/General Manager about defects, damages, errors, contamination, spills, incidents, or accidents
- Document and report completion status of assigned work
- Sort hazardous materials according to specific criteria and direct them to appropriate processing or shipping areas
Requirements
- Previous hazardous and non-hazardous waste management experience is an asset
- Must be clean shaven
- Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs
- Successful completion of required drug testing
- Propane forklift experience/certification is an asset
- Must be motivated, able to multi-task, and work effectively in a team environment
- Valid work authorization in Canada is required
- Must provide valid documentation confirming eligibility to work in Canada before start date
