About the role
- Full Stack Software Developer building software for GHD’s engineering and environmental specialists. Delivering full-stack solutions, shaping requirements, and collaborating across digital transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and deploy secure, high-quality, performant, and maintainable features and applications
- Own work from start to finish, deliver on agreed timelines, and raise risks and blockers early
- Turn loosely defined problems into clear, workable tasks
- Contribute to several projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities
- Resolve urgent production issues and return to project commitments with minimal disruption
- Work with stakeholders to understand challenges and translate needs into well-scoped stories with acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with peers, senior developers, and business specialists to shape and test solutions
- Lead conversations that clarify requirements, surface constraints, and align stakeholders on progress
- Stay current with best practices and emerging technology, including AI tools and workflows
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and communicate progress, dependencies, and blockers to leads and managers
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one of C#/.NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with React or Vue
- Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with Git, code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage several projects in parallel and prioritize effectively
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Comfort working directly with non-developers
- Practical use of AI tools across the development lifecycle
- Consulting, client-facing, or internal-product requirements-gathering experience is nice to have
- CI/CD and cloud experience is nice to have
- Agile or Kanban delivery experience is nice to have
- NoSQL experience is nice to have
- Familiarity with architecture patterns and secure coding standards is nice to have
- Microsoft Power Platform experience is nice to have
- Exposure to engineering, scientific, or geospatial data is nice to have
