Junior Hydrotechnical Engineer contributing to coastal and hydraulic projects within the Water Resources Technical Team in Markham. Reporting to a Project Manager and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

- Intermediate/mechanical engineer working for GHD, developing innovative HVAC design solutions and mentoring junior engineers in a multidisciplinary design team.
Responsibilities
- Perform the design of ventilation, heating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, stormwater, sanitary, and domestic water systems in accordance with applicable codes
- Carry out a range of activities under the direction of more experienced colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications
- Participate in training, mentoring and supervision of engineers with less experience within the team
- Manage, coordinate, and execute the design of building mechanical systems (HVAC)
- Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of methods and process steps
- Contribute to client management on behalf of more senior commercial staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design of:
- - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC)
- Knowledge of the design of ventilation systems and water systems: stormwater, sanitary, and domestic
- Strong analytical skills with a clear attention to detail and a continuous commitment to quality
- Ability to exercise prompt and informed judgment
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and energy simulation
- Proficiency with software such as HAP or Trane
- Comfortable working with Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with: Quebec Construction Code, Chapters 1 and 3; National Building Code; ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers); National Plumbing Code
- Initiative and a strong motivation to work and seek solutions
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication
- Bilingualism (French and English)
