About the role

  • Software Calibration Specialist for GM's Electrification Thermal Calibration Team. Responsible for calibration data development and collaborative project execution in automotive diagnostics and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration responsibilities in Electrification Thermal Device Controls/Diagnostics and System Diagnostics.
  • Develop calibration data sets for current and future vehicle platforms, including hybrid applications.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams, handle multiple projects/priorities.
  • Balance planned and unplanned work.
  • Travel requirements of ~30 days per year, predominantly to Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan and potentially other locations in the US and Canada.
  • Ensure robust execution of diagnostic and controls calibrations through in-vehicle and laboratory data collection, bulk data analysis, and related performance verification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in SW/Controls development, calibration, verification, or validation.
  • Experience with in-vehicle testing, including troubleshooting experience with electrical or thermal systems.
  • Ability to complete minor automotive mechanical and wiring work.
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis.
  • Independent worker requiring little direction and works well in a team environment.
  • Willing to gain specific training from a variety of people / techniques.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to deal with ambiguity and changes driven by program modifications/updates.
  • Strong time management skills, required to meet agreed upon customer deliverables while managing multiple projects.
  • Able to contribute to technical projects and work effectively with Local and Global teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to the United States on short notice.
  • Valid Driver’s (G) license for Ontario.
