About the role
- Senior electrical estimator analyzing projects and ensuring accurate cost estimates for various commercial and industrial constructions. Collaborating with clients and suppliers in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the work to be performed using tender documents, specifications and drawings
- Perform quantity and material takeoffs from drawings
- Analyze direct and indirect costs related to the project
- Request price quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Recommend, when necessary, alternatives to what is specified on the drawings
- Participate in the preparation of the formal bid
- Other job-related duties as required
Requirements
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in Electricity or significant relevant experience
- Minimum five years of experience in electrical estimating (commercial and industrial)
- Experience working on construction sites (asset)
- Good knowledge of construction and industrial electrical systems, instrumentation and control (asset)
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Excellent ability to read, analyze and interpret plans and drawings
- Ability to manage priorities in a multi-project environment
- Self-directed, detail-oriented and organized
- Fluent in French; functional proficiency in English
