About the role
- Frontend Software Engineer assisting Homebase to build AI-powered interfaces that transform small business operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences in a hybrid work setting.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, performant frontend software used by Homebase customers
- Develop intuitive UI patterns that bring AI-driven insights and automation directly into customer workflows
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, ML Platform, Applied AI, Infrastructure, and Identity teams to ship cohesive AI-powered experiences
- Help shape frontend architecture that supports real-time intelligence, personalization, and proactive system behavior
- Empower other frontend teams by improving tooling, workflows, and shared patterns
- Evaluate and recommend emerging frontend frameworks and technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and lead by example with clean, maintainable code
- Contribute to our transition into an AI-first engineering culture by leveraging tools that increase velocity and quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of frontend development experience, preferably with React.js
- Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience building scalable, maintainable UI systems
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and pull request workflows
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Bonus: Experience building AI-enabled or data-intensive interfaces
- Bonus: Familiarity with real-time systems, personalization, or complex state management
- Bonus: A strong product mindset and excitement about building intelligent software
