About the role

  • Senior Data Scientist leading ML strategies at Homebase. Collaborating with teams to enhance data-driven solutions and machine learning platform.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering closely with senior leadership to devise a comprehensive multi-year technical strategy for our (ML) platform.
  • Guiding the design and implementation of essential platform components geared toward the training, deployment, and monitoring of ML models in production environments.
  • Establishing and enforcing best practices for maintaining data quality, governance, and security standards across the data and machine learning platform.
  • Offering technical mentorship and guidance to the engineers within the team and across engineering, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Providing expert guidance on industry-leading practices, tools, and technologies relevant to ML engineering
  • Developing and implementing effective communication strategies to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitating cross-functional understanding and collaboration.
  • Cultivating partnerships across Engineering, Product Management, Infrastructure, Security, Analytics, and Design teams to address technical and non-technical problems collaboratively.

Requirements

  • Over 7 years of software development experience, specializing in data science and ML for 7+ years
  • Proficient in building and deploying machine learning models (including language models)
  • Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing scalable ML platforms and infrastructure, optimizing workflows for machine learning lifecycle management.
  • Proficient in building model serving pipelines for batch, streaming, and real-time inference
  • Driving the operationalization of ML models, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for ML systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and attention to detail
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, Databricks, Git, or a similar technical stack
