About the role
- Credit Risk Officer ensuring integrated risk management by assessing and controlling risks in financial services. Collaborating across teams to implement new initiatives for effective risk management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the work required by the Group Risk Management and Compliance team with sales, pricing, modeling, and other functions
- Elaborate and produce regular reporting of key risk indicators to Group Risk Management and Compliance
- Provide the effective challenge of Expected Credit Losses (ECL) Model to ensure adequate provisioning
- Conduct risk assessments, including financial analysis, industry research, and market trends
- Serve in an advisory capacity and participate in executive committee meetings and sector governance meetings.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, including 7 years in a credit risk management position
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian financial services’ regulatory environment
- Knowledge of legal procedures and hands-on experience working with credit collection agencies
- Excellent analytical skills
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field such as finance, accounting, actuarial or any relevant field
- Hold a professional certification such as a CPA, FSA, FICA, FCAS, CFA, MBA, or FRM would be an asset
- Advanced proficiency in English is required; French is optional.
