About the role
- Corporate HSE Industrial Hygienist providing leadership in occupational health and leading the industrial hygiene program at IKO, a roofing materials manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction through the application of principle-based management practices.
- Be directly responsible for all aspects of IH programs and health-related topics.
- Lead and advance the industrial hygiene program across IKO organization.
- Develop the company’s IH policies, standards, operating guidelines and lead an industrial hygiene exposure assessment strategy.
- Develop sampling strategies and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Work with the analytical lab for data analysis.
- Evaluate industrial hygiene program documents for compliance.
- Act as an internal authority on applicable laws and regulations related to occupational health and industrial hygiene.
- Provide IH technical support to operational sites and Corp. HSE team.
- Serve as an internal auditor of industrial hygiene program.
Requirements
- BS or BA in Industrial Hygiene
- 5+ years of Industrial Hygiene relevant experience
- Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®)
- Working knowledge of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
- 5 years of experience with chemical and physical agent engineering control concepts and design that includes practical implementation.
- A team player who can lead by example and influence others.
- Strong communication skills to enable the transfer of clear and concise information.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities with the ability to make decisions under pressure in an environment of rapid change.
- Some travel to various sites in North America will be required
