About the role

  • Accounting & Business Process Manager overseeing finance for INCOM Manufacturing Group, a Canadian safety-products manufacturer. Improving ERP systems, reporting, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions for Canadian and U.S. operations
  • Oversee month-end and year-end accounting processes, financial reporting, and reconciliations
  • Manage day-to-day banking activities
  • Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, and financial controls
  • Administer payroll, pension plans, and group benefits
  • Coordinate business insurance renewals
  • Ensure payroll, tax, and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time
  • Work with external accountants and tax advisors on annual corporate tax filings and year-end financial statements
  • Act as primary contact for external accountants, auditors, insurance providers, banks, and government agencies
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, automation, AI, and other technology solutions
  • Support and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related business systems
  • Work with accounting, sales, operations, and warehousing to streamline workflows and eliminate manual processes
  • Work with manufacturing and operations to improve inventory accuracy, costing, and reporting
  • Assist with sales reporting, commissions, and analytical business reporting
  • Analyze financial and operational information to support day-to-day decision making
  • Supervise one direct report
  • Work closely with management and other departments to support accounting, inventory, operations, and business systems

Requirements

  • Experienced accounting professional with strong practical experience
  • CPA preferred; CPA candidates, accounting students with relevant practical experience, and candidates with equivalent hands-on accounting, finance, or business operations experience encouraged to apply
  • Experience managing accounting processes and preparing financial reports
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems is an asset
  • Interest in technology, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Manufacturing experience is an asset but not required
  • Corporate tax and audit expertise is not required
  • Ability to work 5 days a week on-site
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to understand the bigger picture
  • Comfort using technology and learning new systems
  • Ability to take ownership of work and follow tasks through to completion
