About the role

  • Pipeline Engineer in Training supporting pipeline engineering projects for oil & gas sector. Involved in in-house design, engineering deliverables, and project execution from FEED to construction support.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of pipeline systems, including routing, tie-ins, and facility interfaces
  • Develop and interpret P&IDs and pipeline schematics
  • Assist with line sizing, pressure system considerations, and material selection
  • Contribute to the design of valve sites, pigging facilities, and pipeline appurtenances
  • Support pipeline-related facility design, including metering, compression, and pumping systems
  • Prepare and maintain line lists, valve lists, MTOs, and Bills of Materials
  • Support development of engineering drawings and pipeline design packages
  • Prepare equipment datasheets and technical documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and constructability discussions
  • Coordinate with process, civil, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
  • Assist with Material Requisitions (MRs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs)
  • Support RFQ/RFP processes and vendor coordination
  • Participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs)
  • Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning
  • Assist with field walkdowns, redlines, and as-built updates
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of design issues during execution
  • Contribute to change management and project documentation

Requirements

  • 2+ years of engineering experience in pipeline or oil & gas projects
  • Direct experience supporting pipeline design or pipeline facilities engineering is required
  • Experience within EPC/EPCM or owner/operator environments is preferred
  • Exposure to mainline pipelines, gathering systems, or facility tie-ins is an asset
  • Working knowledge of pipeline systems and piping design principles
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems associated with pipeline infrastructure
  • Knowledge of key industry codes and standards such as CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 / B31.1, and applicable API standards
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, pipeline alignment drawings, and specifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar design tools
  • Experience with Navisworks or other 3D model review tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered or eligible as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
