Legal content associate managing Canadian legal publications for LexisNexis. Coordinating authors, reviewing manuscripts, and ensuring accurate, timely print and digital releases.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of designated publications, available both online and in print
Collaborate and follow-up with authors to ensure timely delivery of manuscripts according to the publishing schedule
Review manuscripts for adherence to author guidelines and provide feedback to authors
Recruit new authors and proceed to author replacement for publications within the portfolio
Establish and maintain relationships with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, librarians, and other external partners
Act as a resource person for authors and different departments for publications within the portfolio
Apply legal knowledge and analytical skills to the development and management of legal publications
Help ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of content supporting legal professionals across Canada
Requirements
A Canadian law degree, or a law degree from another jurisdiction with a Certificate of Qualification from Canada’s National Committee on Accreditation
At least 1 year’s practice/articling or legal publishing experience
Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines for print, online and newsletter releases
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-departmental project teams
Excellent communication (oral and written) and negotiation skills
Experience operating with AI as a standard part of workflows, including demonstrated hands-on experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools daily to support content and analysis; iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistency
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite
