About the role

  • Legal content associate managing Canadian legal publications for LexisNexis. Coordinating authors, reviewing manuscripts, and ensuring accurate, timely print and digital releases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of designated publications, available both online and in print
  • Collaborate and follow-up with authors to ensure timely delivery of manuscripts according to the publishing schedule
  • Review manuscripts for adherence to author guidelines and provide feedback to authors
  • Recruit new authors and proceed to author replacement for publications within the portfolio
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, librarians, and other external partners
  • Act as a resource person for authors and different departments for publications within the portfolio
  • Apply legal knowledge and analytical skills to the development and management of legal publications
  • Help ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of content supporting legal professionals across Canada

Requirements

  • A Canadian law degree, or a law degree from another jurisdiction with a Certificate of Qualification from Canada’s National Committee on Accreditation
  • At least 1 year’s practice/articling or legal publishing experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines for print, online and newsletter releases
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-departmental project teams
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and negotiation skills
  • Experience operating with AI as a standard part of workflows, including demonstrated hands-on experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools daily to support content and analysis; iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistency
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite
