Site Supervisor managing day-to-day project operations for civil construction projects in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Ensuring work meets specifications and coordinating with staff and suppliers.
Responsibilities
Organize and coordinate day to day project operations and field staff
Plan and schedule work with operations for available resources to meet client needs
Ensure work is completed according to plans, standards and specifications
Track and submit quantities for invoicing
Proactively communicate and coordinate daily/as needed with GC/owner staff, suppliers and engineering re: scope of work, equipment needed to complete jobs and problem solve
Trouble shoot field issues on-site to maintain workflow and meet deliverables
Ensure sufficient data obtained and documented through life of the contract to substantiate contractor's progress and final payment certificates
Obtain and maintain up to date and accurate utility locates
Prepare job sheets for field staff
Other duties as assigned by your senior manager
Requirements
5-10 years progressive experience in the heavy civil construction industry
Previous supervisory experience
Must be able to work independently and in a team
Must have strong communication, time management, scheduling and negotiation skills
Able to multi task and sustain productivity over long hours in a fast paced environment
Working knowledge of MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license
Candidates must be open to working as per project requirements (weekends etc) and out of town when required
