About the role

  • Tax Producer creating Canadian and U.S. tax podcasts for LumiQ, an audio-first professional education platform. Researching topics, coordinating experts, and developing engaging CPD content.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the Canadian and U.S. tax content learning curriculum
  • Research and pitch tax topics for podcast episodes
  • Find, schedule, prepare, and coordinate appropriate guests
  • Create interview preparation materials, foundational research, and interview questions
  • Support hosts during interviews through live producing, timekeeping, follow-up questions, fact checking, and audio quality monitoring
  • Progress toward hosting episodes after onboarding and training
  • Review raw audio and make content-focused edits
  • Ensure content is engaging, concise, accurate, and aligned with learning objectives
  • Write episode descriptions, quiz questions, speaker bios, glossary terms, visual aids, and other episode copy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, hosts, and team members while experimenting with processes and systems
  • Report to the Manager of Technical Education

Requirements

  • Recognized accounting designation such as CPA or CA
  • 3–5 years of U.S. tax experience, ideally in public accounting
  • Experience with C corporations, flow-through entities, individuals, estates, trusts, or gifts
  • Ability to explain tax concepts in an easy-to-digest way
  • Ability to research and quickly learn unfamiliar tax topics
  • Critical-thinking and sound judgment in selecting and presenting tax topics
  • Ability to balance multiple stakeholders, schedules, and team inputs
  • Strong organization and attention to detail across multiple podcasts
  • Ability to ensure content is factual, digestible, and enjoyable
  • Proactive approach to anticipating problems and suggesting improvements
  • Comfort with being in front of a microphone
  • Prior audio production experience is not required
