About the role
- Software Development Manager leading MaintainX engineering teams building reporting, identity, or search capabilities. Managing developers, delivery, quality, hiring, and technical execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead one of several engineering teams
- Manage 5 to 6 developers and own delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to scope, plan, and deliver reliable software
- Coach and grow developers and support career development
- Interview candidates and help raise the talent bar
- Set expectations and provide ongoing feedback
- Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices
- Report team impact, progress, and risks to senior leadership
- Lead reporting, identity and access management, or search platform initiatives depending on team placement
Requirements
- 2–3 years of people leadership experience, with a track record of leading teams that ship
- Strong technical foundation in system design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies
- Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management
- Jira experience preferred
- Interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers
- Comfort partnering with Recruiting and other managers to hire and scale the organization
- Excellent communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
