About the role

Associate Operational Engineer at Manulife supporting cloud and server-based infrastructure. Engaging in project planning and infrastructure deployment.

Responsibilities

Work with Server and Cloud based technical architectures, solution migration strategies, and assist engineering on application optimizations
Contribute to the design and deployment of infrastructure on Server and Cloud through manual, automation tooling and processes for operations
Upgrade infrastructure, software, and technologies to the latest currency
Participate in project planning meetings to share your knowledge of system options, risk, impact, and benefits
Be part of a leading team that paves the path for others through investigations and Proof of Technologies around tools, code management, reporting, server and cloud-based infrastructure
Participate in discussions and contribute to the infrastructure practices and conventions across the company

1+ years operational experience in Server support, upgrades configurations, and implementations
Customer service approach
Networking knowledge
Knowledge of server platforms (Windows, Linux, AIX)
Familiarity with database technologies in cloud such as (MSSQL, Oracle, OpenEdge)
IT operations experience (ITIL, ITSM)
Development experience
Familiarity in DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
Experience in Microsoft Azure and AKS or other similar cloud technologies
Familiarity with standard IT security practices
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Jenkins, AKS, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell
