About the role
- Chief Compliance Officer leading CIRO compliance for Manulife’s Canadian dealer operations. Managing regulatory oversight, risk, reporting, policies, training, and compliance teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with CIRO regulations and applicable securities laws
- Provide guidance and oversight on compliance-related matters
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks
- Establish and maintain monitoring systems for ongoing compliance
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors
- Design and conduct compliance and ethics training programs
- Serve as primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including CIRO
- Lead the compliance team and support professional development and high performance
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate compliance practices into business operations
Requirements
- 10 years experience
- Prior CIRO registered Chief Compliance Officer experience
- Deep understanding of securities regulations
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Ability to effectively manage compliance risks
- Knowledge of Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) regulations and applicable securities laws
