About the role
- Technical Lead overseeing design and architecture of digital platforms for Sleep Country Canada. Ensuring systems are reliable, scalable and enhance customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical design and architecture for digital platforms, including eCommerce, frontend, and integration layers.
- Define and oversee integration design between digital platforms and backend systems (APIs, order systems, inventory, payment services).
- Ensure digital platforms are scalable, stable, and aligned with technical standards and best practices.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to digital development teams and external vendors.
- Validate technical feasibility, identify risks, and define mitigation strategies during planning and delivery.
- Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to align technical design with delivery timelines and business requirements.
- Evaluate and introduce modern development practices and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve platform capability, delivery efficiency, and customer experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 6 -8 years experience in software engineering, digital platform development, or technical leadership roles.
- Strong experience with digital platforms (eCommerce systems such as BigCommerce, Shopify or similar)
- Experience designing and supporting API-driven integrations
- Understanding of frontend and backend application architecture
- Experience with web technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs)
- Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments
- Ability to guide and influence development teams without direct authority
- Experience working with external vendors and delivery partners
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in complex, multi-system environments
- The knowledge of English is required for this specific position as the incumbent will interact on a consistent and regular basis with English-speaking stakeholders located outside of Quebec.
