Backend Technical Lead building Shopify integrations for enterprise commerce brands at Domaine. Leading development, client technical guidance, data migrations, and project delivery.
Responsibilities
Design and implement reliable, efficient, and secure integrations using PHP/Laravel or JS/Node
Optimize databases and queues and assess how infrastructure choices affect throughput and reliability
Ensure projects are well tested and implement solid CI/CD pipelines
Communicate complex technical concepts to clients and negotiate requirements, resources, timelines, and scope
Provide technical advice on Shopify integrations, middleware architecture, and design principles
Communicate overall project status and raise challenges or uncertainty early
Assist with development timelines and groom, assign, and release work
Supervise team output and identify when teammates need guidance
Help others solve problems collaboratively through paired programming and quality code reviews
Support enterprise brands migrating to Shopify and evaluate off-the-shelf versus custom solutions
Requirements
Experienced backend Tech Lead with a proven ability to ship production-ready code in an agency environment
Experience with common enterprise systems, including ERP, OMS, IMS, PIM, and POS
Tangible experience with order management lifecycles, product data models, data migrations, omni-channel, and payments
Ability to evaluate when off-the-shelf versus custom solutions are appropriate
Proficiency with PHP/Laravel or JS/Node, PostgreSQL, and AWS
Comfortable working in the command line and with Linux-based operating systems
Experience optimizing databases and queues
Ability to implement a solid CI/CD pipeline
Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and data migration between systems
Good understanding of the Shopify data model and hands-on experience with Shopify APIs
Knowledge of other enterprise e-commerce systems is valued
Ability to collaboratively solve problems and share knowledge
Experience with React is nice to have, not required
People management experience is a plus, not required
Ability to work U.S. Eastern Time Zone hours
