About the role
- Personal Support Worker at Margaret Bahen Hospice assisting with daily living activities. Providing end of life care and emotional support to Residents and their Caregivers in a home-like environment.
Responsibilities
- Providing assistance with all activities of daily life
- End of life care to Residents and their Caregivers
- Implement the plan of care
- Provide a home-like environment, emotional, social and spiritual support
- Personal care that reflects the individual needs and preferences of each Resident
- Prepare, deliver, and assist with meals as requested or required by the Resident
- Ensure rooms are clean and tidied in accordance with preferences
Requirements
- Personal Support Worker Diploma from an accredited college
- Post graduate training in hospice or palliative care preferred
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience in community healthcare, long-term care or hospital setting
- Preference is given to individuals with work experience in hospice or palliative care
- Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment
