About the role
- Lead Software Developer for Platform Modernization at Verafin. Mentoring developers and designing cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor developers across design, coding, and testing practices
- Design and support microservices deployed via Terraform in AWS environments
- Contribute to and review Java code to resolve issues and deliver new features
- Partner with architects to design and evolve cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities
- Work across teams to ensure services are scalable, reliable, and aligned with disaster recovery expectations
Requirements
- A university degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in software development
- Strong experience in software development, with a focus on backend or platform engineering
- Proven ability to lead technical work and mentor other developers
- Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Experience working with Java in production environments
- Strong understanding of system scalability, resilience, and reliability principles
- Nice to Have: Experience working on platform or infrastructure-focused teams
- Nice to Have: Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Nice to Have: Experience supporting disaster recovery or resilience initiatives
