About the role

  • Nestlé factory maintenance manager overseeing plant engineering, utilities, safety, and maintenance operations. Managing capital projects, energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage factory maintenance activities while protecting employee health and safety, product safety, and the environment
  • Enhance product quality, plant performance, and business objectives through engineering activities
  • Provide input on site policies, goals, and objectives
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate capital budgets for equipment and facilities
  • Manage plant energy costs, efficiencies, and energy-reduction projects
  • Manage capital projects, including requests, design, and implementation
  • Develop short- and long-range engineering and maintenance goals for site expansion and improvements
  • Manage maintenance projects and coordinate maintenance personnel
  • Develop and maintain divisional and site maintenance standards
  • Coach, mentor, and discipline department personnel as needed
  • Inspect plant areas for equipment design, evaluation, and troubleshooting
  • Direct installation or modification of equipment
  • Review and approve equipment purchase orders, contract service orders, and plant service agreements
  • Coordinate electrical power, compressed gases, water, sewer, HVAC, lighting, buildings, grounds, and fire protection systems
  • Oversee explosive atmospheres, steam, combustion, pressure systems, electrical, and automation
  • Manage outside contractors’ compliance with sanitation, safety, quality, productivity, and budgeting standards
  • Research and apply engineering maintenance technologies
  • Provide technical support, training, and career development for maintenance staff
  • Supervise daily maintenance of plant facilities and equipment
  • Coordinate staffing, establish performance measures, and administer performance appraisals
  • Set direction for maintenance training and develop department goals and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with machinery safety hazard analysis, OSHA requirements, food safety, sanitation, quality, environmental, and Nestlé standards
  • Address departmental issues and drive resolution

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in engineering, preferably mechanical / electrical / chemical / process engineering
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a technical field, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry, including Maintenance responsibilities
  • Strong technical and managerial skills
  • Project Engineering/Management - Plant Design & Construction
  • Industrial Services and Energy Management (NEMT)
  • Good understanding of electricity, control and automation
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology
  • Knowledge of maintenance technologies
  • Knowledge of operation of utilities
  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R)
  • Analytical skills in problem solving
  • Communication and networking
  • Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers
  • Knowledge of Nestlé Standard Costing
  • Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM)
  • CAPEX budgeting and preparation (CIAT)
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD View or Visio, CDM, AMM, ESAT, CIAT, NEMT, NEST and related support tools
