About the role

  • Engineer in Nokia’s Optical Engineering Team designing next generation transponder/muxponder products. Collaborating with teams to optimize performance and assist in integration of line modules.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior technical contributor for the design and development of optical line system products, you will work closely with our optical system design team to translate system requirements into product and then component specifications.
  • Responsible for optical design, calibration, optical DVT and debug of said products, including EDFAs, Raman amplifiers, FOADMs, ROADMs, OPM, OCM, optical switches, OTDR, spectrum equalizers and other advanced optical modules.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics or Electrical Engineering
  • Optical systems engineering • Optical communications product design and development
  • Write engineering and design specifications
  • Write test plans, review test results and judge design margins to support compliance to specifications over life of product
  • Accountable leadership
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • Superb communication: verbal and written
