Responsibilities
Technical analysis and expert assessment
Conduct condition and capacity assessments of heavy mechanical systems for dams and existing hydroelectric facilities
Perform technical diagnostics, detailed inspections and expert evaluations of in-service mechanical equipment
Assess compliance, safety, reliability and remaining service life of equipment
Formulate technical recommendations for refurbishment, code-compliance upgrades or replacement of equipment
Design, rehabilitate or replace heavy mechanical equipment
Carry out advanced sizing and design calculations (static and dynamic loads, stability, fatigue, wear, in-service behaviour)
Participate in preliminary and detailed design, including selection of materials, mechanisms and construction solutions
Contribute to the preparation of technical drawings and specifications for tenders, refurbishment works or new installations
Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in heavy mechanical engineering, industrial mechanics or dam mechanical systems
Significant experience with hydroelectric facilities, dams or hydraulic infrastructure (major asset)
Excellent knowledge of standards, codes and best practices applicable to dam mechanical equipment
Strong technical judgment, autonomy and ability to address complex engineering problems
Excellent command of French, both spoken and written; functional knowledge of English
