About the role

  • FP&A Associate supporting budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and financial modeling for Northleaf, a global private markets investment firm. Delivering analysis for leadership, boards, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of Northleaf's long-term strategic plan and quarterly performance management
  • Maintain and improve the financial model, including inputs, outputs, and key assumptions
  • Produce monthly and quarterly management reporting of financial performance with commentary and variance analysis
  • Report results to IGM Financial, the Board of Directors, Management, and Shareholder Committees
  • Define and report key operating metrics and KPIs across the organization
  • Maintain and update business-unit profitability allocation models and KPIs
  • Support Northleaf's annual budgeting process and gather input from business and functional leaders
  • Support the annual business valuation process
  • Create monthly and quarterly AUM continuity reporting by total, asset class, and fund
  • Analyze fundraising and investment pacing drivers
  • Support the broader corporate finance function and enterprise-wide financial strategy
  • Provide ad hoc decision support and analysis

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Modeling, Corporate Accounting, or a similar function
  • Experience in investment banking, management consulting, or asset management is advantageous
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Economics and/or CPA/MBA/CFA would be an asset
  • Ability to analyze complex financial models, distill key insights, solve problems, and draw conclusions
  • Experience reporting financial results and KPIs across multiple periods, including variance analysis
  • Mastery of MS Excel and experience developing financial models
  • Confidence with PowerPoint and add-in functionality
  • Experience manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets using SQL and/or Python (or R), Tableau / Power BI is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills
