About the role
- Part-time Skating Instructor ensuring safety and enjoyment in hockey programs at Sensplex. Engaging participants through skating drills, safety adherence, and educational experiences.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and care of the participants
- Lead and demonstrate drills for our participants to learn the fundamentals of skating
- Constantly be involved in error-detection & correction of all participants to enhance their skills and enjoyment
- Responsible for engaging the participants in a fun, enjoyable and educational skating experience
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Skating Instructor
- Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act are adhered to
- Complete on-line training modules as required
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Previous hockey/skating experience at a high level
- Strong teaching skills
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual (French & English) an asset
- First-Aid Training an asset
- Must provide a clear Police Records Check for service with the vulnerable sector
- Able to work flexible hours
- Must be comfortable and enjoy working with children
- Must work under pressure and adapt to changing environments
