About the role

  • Accounts Payable Clerk processing invoices and resolving payment discrepancies for PCL Constructors Canada’s Ottawa construction project. Maintaining vendor accounts, purchase orders, and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review, retrieve, and verify vendor invoices received through a shared accounts payable inbox and vendor portal
  • Enter approved invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Update purchase orders with accurate cost codes
  • Identify and prioritize approved, overdue invoices to maintain positive supplier relationships
  • Distribute invoices to the appropriate project efficiently
  • Investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies independently
  • Prepare new vendor verification documentation
  • Respond to vendor and internal staff inquiries via email, phone, in person, or MS Teams
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Assist with year-end reporting
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1 year of experience in an accounts payable role or equivalent technical experience
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in an accounting or administrative program considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to change
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information
  • Ability to effectively handle difficult situations and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to create, edit, proofread, and format documents/presentations
  • Basic skills in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and OneNote
