About the role
- Principal Systems Engineer focusing on mass spectrometry hardware and software at PerkinElmer. Designing, developing, and integrating specialized chromatography systems to improve analytical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and integrate mass spectrometry hardware, firmware, and software
- Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software design engineers
- Work with supplier engineers on specialized components
- Conduct assembly and testing of chromatography systems
- Develop performance specifications and test procedures
- Support chromatography applications scientists and applications development
- Prepare internal technical reports and documentation
- Assist in transferring designs to production
Requirements
- Design, development and integration of mass spectrometry hardware, firmware, software
- Experience with GC and LC systems
- Work experience with electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software design
- Ability to create integrated chromatography systems
- Assembly and testing of prototype chromatography systems and/or components
- Development of performance specifications and test procedures
- Support chromatography applications scientists and applications development
- Preparation of internal technical reports and documentation
- Assist transfer to production of successful prototype/R&D pilot designs
