About the role
- Strategic Finance Lead modeling GTM and product growth for Plooto’s SMB payments fintech. Building live forecasting infrastructure and advising executive, board, and investor decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own driver-based financial models for supported business areas
- Embed with GTM, Product, and potentially Payments Strategy, Risk, and Operations teams to challenge assumptions, frame tradeoffs, and advise decisions
- Forecast subscriber metrics, TPV, and revenue by product line and payment rail
- Investigate metric movements, explain their causes, assess whether changes are favorable or concerning, and recommend actions
- Connect function-level models to the central company budget and operating plan
- Build and maintain live SQL data pipelines from Databricks or a similar warehouse into models
- Help modernize planning infrastructure through tooling, automation, or architecture
- Distill complex analysis into clear stories for executive, board, and investor audiences
- Partner with the Senior Financial Analyst to maintain coherent forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Help define how finance partners with the business as the function grows
Requirements
- 7+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, or business analytics, ideally in fintech, SaaS, or another recurring-revenue business
- Knowledge of payments or transaction economics, including take rate, transaction mix across rails, cost per transaction, and volume-to-revenue conversion
- Practical knowledge of SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, payback, and LTV
- Hands-on SQL against a warehouse such as Databricks, wired into Excel for live-refresh workflows
- Advanced Excel and driver-based modeling
- Ability to reason about causation versus correlation and evaluate experiments
- Exceptional communication skills for technical, non-technical, and business-leader audiences
- Partnering instinct and judgment to prioritize work and clearly decline requests when necessary
- Ability to use AI tools to automate analytical workflows
- Experience helping select or implement FP&A planning tooling
