About the role
- Associate Medical Officer of Health in Peel Region providing medical expertise and strategic direction in public health. Collaborating with teams and supporting the health and well-being of the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and medical expertise in public health program design, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborate with other medical officers and divisional leaders
- Build relationships with community partners and government agencies
- Promote a culture of equity and continuous improvement
- Respond to medical consults and provide 24-hour on call MOH coverage
Requirements
- Eligibility for an independent practice certificate from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Specialty certification in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (formerly Community Medicine)
- Proven ability to lead change in complex and dynamic environments
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Political acuity and strategic thinking
