About the role

  • Associate Medical Officer of Health in Peel Region providing medical expertise and strategic direction in public health. Collaborating with teams and supporting the health and well-being of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and medical expertise in public health program design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with other medical officers and divisional leaders
  • Build relationships with community partners and government agencies
  • Promote a culture of equity and continuous improvement
  • Respond to medical consults and provide 24-hour on call MOH coverage

Requirements

  • Eligibility for an independent practice certificate from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Specialty certification in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (formerly Community Medicine)
  • Proven ability to lead change in complex and dynamic environments
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Political acuity and strategic thinking
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural humility
