About the role

  • Senior Product Manager shaping reporting and insights for Remote, a global employment platform. Owning payroll-grade reporting, AI-assisted insights, and cross-functional product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and roadmap for a multi-surface reporting system spanning in-app report building, dashboards, scheduled delivery, exports, APIs/connectors, embedded partner surfaces, and AI/agent experiences.
  • Translate the reporting needs of payroll, finance, HR, executive, manager, internal operator, and partner/builder personas into product priorities.
  • Own payroll-grade reporting capabilities, including standard reports, configurable report building, GL/journal exports, variance reporting, reconciliation, definitions, permissions, lineage, auditability, and observability.
  • Identify opportunities for AI, anomaly detection, driver analysis, and proactive recommendations while ensuring outputs are explainable, source-backed, and compliant.
  • Partner with Data, Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Sales, CX, Finance, Operations, and external partners to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for adoption, engagement, trust, report accuracy, distribution usage, retention, expansion, and internal leverage.
  • Continuously improve the product using customer feedback and data.
  • Report to a Senior Group Product Manager and collaborate daily with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Senior-level track record as a Product Manager focused on reporting, analytics, data platforms, workflow, or insights products
  • Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code (required)
  • Ability to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code and prototypes
  • Hands-on understanding of data schemas, query patterns, analytics code, and AI-assisted workflows
  • Strong end-to-end data literacy across models/schemas, lineage, and report generation
  • Understanding of grain, joins, aggregations, double-counting, currencies, timezones, effective dating, and late-arriving data
  • Ability to read and write SQL to validate results and investigate discrepancies
  • Ability to ensure metrics are well-defined, reconciled, and trustworthy
  • Ability to partner with Data and Engineering on definition and modeling issues
  • Strong customer focus and empathy for customer workflows
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional alignment skills
  • Strong UX sensibilities for data, reporting, and insights workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Business-level proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Experience with HR Tech, payroll, finance, compliance, or B2B SaaS products is nice to have
