About the role
- French (Quebec) speech contributor recording spontaneous conversations for RWS AI technology projects. Annotating speech data and metadata to improve speech recognition and conversational AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech in accordance with project guidelines
- Participate in or capture speech from approved real-life situations, such as workplace conversations or casual one-on-one discussions
- Complete individual or two-person conversational speech tasks, or participate in voice or voice-text interactions with an AI or machine-based system
- Annotate collected speech data according to provided instructions
- Provide required information and metadata related to each recording
- Support evaluation and development of speech recognition and conversational AI technologies through spontaneous speech recordings
- Recordings, annotations, and metadata may be reviewed and incorporated into datasets for research, development, testing, and improvement of AI systems
Requirements
- Native-level fluency in French (Quebec)
- Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
- Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
- Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
- Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
- Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata
- Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions
- Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise
- Computer microphone or headset with microphone
- Reliable internet connection
- Ability to access and use an online recording platform
