About the role

  • Program Officer supporting Help Lines service for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in Vancouver, focusing on recruiting and training volunteers for the Spanish program.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Help Lines service, providing emotional support and referral information
  • Works closely with the Program Coordinator to develop and maintain the Help Lines services
  • Provides administrative support and serves as a liaison between volunteers and Program Coordinator
  • Implements effective strategies to recruit volunteers with appropriate skills
  • Assists Program Coordinator with volunteer screening and training
  • Creates reports and compiles statistics

Requirements

  • Related post-secondary Diploma (Social Science preferred)
  • Psychology or counselling background is an asset
  • Help Lines New Volunteer Training is an asset
  • Distress line or crisis line training is an asset
  • Experience in managing volunteers
  • Experience in working at non-profit organizations
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, including online platforms
  • Experience working in diverse workplaces with diverse staff, volunteers and clientele
