About the role

  • Estimator role at Sacré-Davey to support engineering and construction projects with accurate capital requirements estimation. Collaborate on various project stages ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to AACE standards.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize engineering designs at various stages of a project’s development into detailed and accurate estimates of our clients’ capital requirements to execute their projects
  • Present and defend the results to client management teams and 3rd party auditors
  • Develop estimates in accordance with AACE best practices
  • Develop detailed Basis of Estimate documentation
  • Participate in the quantitative risk analysis process defining project contingency
  • Assist in maintaining SDE’s internal estimate database
  • Update estimates as required reflecting changes in project scope and conditions

Requirements

  • 5-10 years experience in an Estimating role for engineering or construction firms
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction, Engineering, or related field, and Certificate in Construction Estimating
  • Knowledge in construction projects for energy, mining and general industrial (Ports & Marine, Pulp & Paper, Chemical Process) markets
  • Knowledge of all construction trades including civil, structural, piping, mechanical equipment, and EIC
  • Familiar with specialist database-driven estimating software packages and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, scheduling, and organizing work assignments
  • Sound communication skills, fluency in English a must, French is considered an asset
