About the role

  • Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer at Sacré-Davey responsible for instrumentation and controls in various industries. Deliver quality work, generate instrumentation drawings, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, supporting and delivering quality work products to support our clients in a variety of industries
  • Generating instrumentation drawings
  • Creating P&IDs
  • Generating panel schematics and PLC loop diagrams
  • Generating shutdown keys and acting as a member of Hazop
  • Writing reports and communicating with customers
  • May be required to travel to job sites for field work, commissioning and support
  • Mentoring less experienced engineers and technologists within the team

Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • A degree in electrical/instrumentation engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of Canadian related work experience preferably from oil and gas and mining industries
  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer within Canada
  • Familiarity with instrumentation in the Oil & Gas/mining sector and/or heavy industry
  • Experience with PLC wiring and IO schematics and control systems
  • Experience with control narratives and logic diagrams
  • Understanding of SIS and SIL ratings
  • Experience with PLC programming and HMI development
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code
  • Must have strong AutoCAD and MS Office Skills
  • RSLOGIX5000, Wonderware, and FactorTalk are all pluses
