About the role
- Quality Inspector for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada responsible for inspecting parts and purchased materials. Utilizing various measurement tools and techniques to ensure quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Accurately inspect a variety of parts and/or purchased material dimensionally and/or visually, including non-destructive testing methods to prescribed quality standards and procedures
- Be proficient in the use of standard measuring gauge tools including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices
- Follow inspection protocols as prescribed in applicable quality procedures
- Be proficient in performance of concurring inspection demands using skill and judgment to take assigned work to completion
- Read and interpret production prints, and other written instructions necessary to perform assigned work
- Perform several different inspection operations requiring skill, judgment and/or interpretation, including final visual
- Be able to make setups or adjustments on various standard gauges or equipment
- Record routine data and count parts as directed
- Training new employees and other inspectors/operators as required
- Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas
- Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and required certificate(s)
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Demonstrated competency at Inspector level or mechanical aptitude and/or related quality experience
- Knowledge of quality systems/policies
