About the role

  • Quality Inspector inspecting aerospace parts and materials for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Using gauges, quality procedures, production prints, and non-destructive testing to ensure prescribed standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately inspect a variety of parts and/or purchased material dimensionally and/or visually, including non-destructive testing methods, to prescribed quality standards and procedures
  • Use standard measuring gauge tools, including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices
  • Follow inspection protocols in applicable quality procedures
  • Perform concurrent inspection tasks using skill and judgment through completion
  • Read and interpret production prints and written instructions
  • Perform inspection operations, including final visual inspection
  • Set up or adjust standard gauges or equipment
  • Record routine data and count parts
  • Train new employees and other inspectors/operators as required
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S in all areas
  • Meet skill requirements in the applicable training matrix and required certificates

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Demonstrated competency at Inspector level or mechanical aptitude and/or related quality experience
  • Knowledge of quality systems/policies
  • Proficiency with standard measuring gauge tools, including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices
  • Ability to perform dimensional, visual, and non-destructive testing inspections
  • Ability to read and interpret production prints and written instructions
  • Ability to make setups or adjustments on standard gauges or equipment
  • Ability to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
  • Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Meet applicable training matrix skill requirements and required certificates
