About the role

  • TPM Maintenance Operator maintaining and troubleshooting automotive production machinery for Schaeffler Canada. Operating machines, performing preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and 5S activities in Stratford.

Responsibilities

  • Work under direct supervision of the immediate Leader and routine operational guidance of others
  • Follow standard work instructions and work specifications
  • Collect, record, document, and enter required data
  • Operate all machines within the defined work area
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain tools, equipment, systems, processes, and machines used to perform work
  • Perform operator TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) and complete fault tags where required
  • Perform scheduled machine and area cleaning and complete fault tags where required
  • Perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve production, process, TPM, and 5S issues
  • Maintain the quality and quantity of 5S and TPM work
  • Monitor and track oil levels, usage, and maintenance-part usage for all machines; initiate troubleshooting where required
  • Inspect own work against provided or directed standards to assess quality
  • Train other operators as needed
  • Work in other departments when required
  • Confirm operational and technical questions with the area Setter, Technician where applicable, or Leader

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with setup, calibration, and maintenance of tools, equipment, systems, processes, and machines used to perform work
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions and work specifications
  • Ability to collect, record, document, and enter required data
  • Ability to perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Ability to inspect own work using provided standards
  • Ability to train other operators as needed
  • Ability to work in other departments when required
