About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support French (Canadian) language and translation initiatives at Securian Canada
  • Translate a variety of corporate documents from English into French, including presentations, press releases, social media content, employee communications, newsletters, web content, and corporate policies
  • Ensure the compliance and consistency of French translations across the organization’s various business areas
  • Collaborate with a network of external translation and interpretation service providers
  • Continuously assess translation quality and ensure business needs are met effectively
  • Review and proofread translations completed by external vendors or internal resources
  • Maintain and develop a standardized lexicon, internal terminology database, and writing guide
  • Draft responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) in French, as well as other documents created primarily or exclusively in French
  • Conduct monthly tracking of usage metrics to analyze volumes and trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation (English-French) from a recognized educational institution
  • Certification from a recognized professional translators’ association (OTTIAQ, ATIO, or CTINB)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of translation and editing experience, ideally in the insurance sector or a related field
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and sound professional judgment
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
