About the role
- GCP Architect designing secure cloud strategies and leading implementations for Softchoice, an IT cloud, AI, software, and digital workplace solutions provider. Supporting presales, DevOps delivery, and Google Cloud practice growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams and clients to understand business requirements and design comprehensive technology solutions
- Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including presentations, demonstrations, and proposal development
- Serve as technical leader during solution design and implementation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Present complex solutions, architectures, integrations, and project updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure cloud solutions follow security standards and compliance best practices
- Communicate proactively with project managers, project teams, and customers
- Create and update project documentation as required by project leads
- Mentor junior engineers
- Contribute to internal initiatives to build the Google Cloud practice by developing solutions, learning skills, and collaborating with the team
- Lead implementation projects with DevOps Engineers and Project Management
Requirements
- 8–10 years of work experience leveraging Google Cloud solutions and services
- Proven track record of successful project contributions in Tech Consulting or Software Development
- In-depth knowledge of cloud services, microservices (Kubernetes), and enterprise integration related to GCP
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience
- Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Expertise in at least one of Terraform or Deployment Manager
- Advanced proficiency in scripting or programming languages
- Expertise in at least one of Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Java
- In-depth knowledge of IT principles in at least one of Networking, Security, Hardware, or Software
- Expert-level understanding of DevOps culture, methodologies, and tooling
- At least 5 years of experience using and managing tools such as Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Docker
- Must pass a criminal record check
