Responsibilities
Perform simulations and analyses to determine aircraft design loads for both new development programs and continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft
Develop and maintain low- and high-fidelity models to support loads analyses
Contribute to the creation of frameworks and automated tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of loads analyses
Develop capabilities for external store separation loads analysis to support militarized aircraft programs
Develop nonlinear actuator modeling tools to meet Transport Canada certification requirements
Use a wide range of commercial and proprietary tools, including a six-degree-of-freedom aircraft simulator
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering (aerospace specialization preferred)
You have relevant experience in the aerospace industry, particularly in external loads analysis
You have experience in nonlinear modeling and certification processes
You have strong programming skills: C++, Fortran, MATLAB, and Python
You have knowledge of numerical and scientific computing
You have experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
You have experience in software development with version control systems (e.g., Git)
You have a good understanding of aircraft flight dynamics, aeroelastic phenomena (flutter, LCO) and unsteady aerodynamics
You are familiar with finite element analysis tools (e.g., Nastran)
You have knowledge of unsteady aerodynamics in both the time and frequency domains
You have experience with fly-by-wire flight control systems and control-law integration
You understand airworthiness regulations and certification documentation
You are eligible to obtain a security clearance under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program
