About the role

  • Aerospace Engineer conducting design loads analysis for aircraft at SOGECLAIR. Involves simulations, modeling, and compliance with certification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simulations and analyses to determine aircraft design loads for both new development programs and continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft
  • Develop and maintain low- and high-fidelity models to support loads analyses
  • Contribute to the creation of frameworks and automated tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of loads analyses
  • Develop capabilities for external store separation loads analysis to support militarized aircraft programs
  • Develop nonlinear actuator modeling tools to meet Transport Canada certification requirements
  • Use a wide range of commercial and proprietary tools, including a six-degree-of-freedom aircraft simulator

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering (aerospace specialization preferred)
  • You have relevant experience in the aerospace industry, particularly in external loads analysis
  • You have experience in nonlinear modeling and certification processes
  • You have strong programming skills: C++, Fortran, MATLAB, and Python
  • You have knowledge of numerical and scientific computing
  • You have experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
  • You have experience in software development with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • You have a good understanding of aircraft flight dynamics, aeroelastic phenomena (flutter, LCO) and unsteady aerodynamics
  • You are familiar with finite element analysis tools (e.g., Nastran)
  • You have knowledge of unsteady aerodynamics in both the time and frequency domains
  • You have experience with fly-by-wire flight control systems and control-law integration
  • You understand airworthiness regulations and certification documentation
  • You are eligible to obtain a security clearance under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program
