Aerospace Engineer conducting aeroelastic simulations and analyses for new aircraft design. Collaborating across engineering disciplines and documenting technical findings for certification.
Responsibilities
**THE TASKS YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH** 🎯
Perform aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations in support of the design of new aircraft and the continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft.
Apply engineering judgement to select appropriate methods, techniques and tools to solve complex problems.
Prepare and maintain finite element models for aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analyses.
Maintain, develop and document methods as well as internal software.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (advanced design, aerodynamics, structures, mass properties, flight controls and control laws).
Support Ground Vibration Tests (GVT) and Flight Flutter Tests (FFT), and process the results.
Document analyses and conclusions in certification technical reports and presentations (in English).
Requirements
**YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS** 💎
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with a specialization in aeronautics. Advanced degrees are a plus.
Relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
Experience in aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analyses.
Good understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamics, control surface actuators and control laws.
Experience with finite element models and analyses. Knowledge of Nastran is an asset.
Experience in stability of dynamic systems and frequency response calculations.
Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, Fortran or C/C++.
Eligibility to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance.
Knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
Strong organizational skills, ability to plan and deliver within budgets and schedules, and capacity to work under pressure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
