About the role

  • Aircraft stress engineer analyzing damage tolerance and fatigue in primary aircraft structures for SOGECLAIR. Supporting design, repairs, certification, suppliers, and maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform damage tolerance analyses on primary structural elements (PSEs)
  • Provide recommendations on aircraft structural design and repair concepts
  • Develop fatigue spectra
  • Validate damage tolerance analyses against experimental results
  • Support the development of the maintenance manual in collaboration with the technical publications and maintenance engineering groups
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with program methodology and technical requirements
  • Review supplier reports and analyses
  • Prepare certification reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in stress analysis of metallic aircraft structures, with a specialization in fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT)
  • Proficiency in NASTRAN, PATRAN, NASGRO, CATIA V5, MS Office, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with an aircraft development program or in-service support, including certification activities, is an asset
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques is an asset
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and team spirit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read and communicate in both French and English
