About the role
- Software Developer building Vue, TypeScript, Node.js and Scala features for SMRTR business software. Developing ERP integrations, AI document capture and PostgreSQL-backed product functionality.
Responsibilities
- Build product features across the front end and back end for NG and SMRTR TRAC
- Design and work with PostgreSQL data models and queries, plus some MongoDB, with attention to performance
- Fix defects and improve product reliability
- Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations with ERP systems such as SYSPRO, Microsoft Dynamics 365, VAI and NCR
- Contribute to AI document capture, including classification and data extraction, and the print-to-NG driver
- Turn requirements from Professional Services, Sales and customers into working software
- Estimate tasks and deliver to agreed dates
- Support go-lives and troubleshoot production issues
- Write tested, reviewed and secure code in a GitHub-based workflow with CI/CD
- Write technical documentation and release notes
- Use AI-assisted development tools
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience
- Production experience with Vue.js, TypeScript and Node.js
- PostgreSQL: schema design, SQL and query performance
- JVM experience, preferably Scala
- Experience building REST APIs and integrating with third-party systems
- Git-based workflows, code review and automated testing
- Clear communication with colleagues and, when needed, customers
- Authorized to work in the United States or Canada
- Set up for remote work
- Nice to have: MongoDB
- Nice to have: Android or Xamarin
- Nice to have: ERP integration experience (e.g., SYSPRO, Microsoft Dynamics 365, VAI, NCR)
- Nice to have: Document management, OCR or AI document capture
