Drinking Water Process Engineer working on diverse municipal water treatment projects for Stantec. Collaborating with project teams and conducting engineering assessments in Ontario cities.
Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Stantec
Take a self-directed role and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively; provide timely and concise feedback to supervisory staff.
Contribute to conceptual design basis reports, engineering assessments, data analysis and design calculations.
Prepare detailed technical analysis of existing or in support of the design of drinking water facilities.
Contribute to the preparation of construction specifications, tender documents, and applications for approvals to regulators on behalf of municipal clients.
Support the preparation of engineering calculations, design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
Maintain positive relationships with municipal clients, vendors, consultants, and regulators as needed always using a professional communication approach.
Conduct occasional site visits to support proposals, project development, or business development.
Inspect and review projects during construction, which may include monitoring conformance with contract documents, reviewing the progress of construction activities, and ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.
Assist the project manager or lead engineer in preparation of proposals and technical reports.
Assist project technical leads in managing project deliverables and schedule.
Ability to work in a flexible office environment, including working within the office setting, or working remote from home where required.
Requirements
Understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of water engineering.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet project budget and schedule.
Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Understanding of engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
Effectively communicates project issues with the contractor, project team and clients in the execution of engineering projects.
Strong presentation, technical, and soft communication skills. Experience working with municipal clients considered an asset.
Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite is required; proficiency in engineering applications such as AutoCAD and Revit software packages are considered an asset.
Completion of an advanced degree related to drinking water treatment process engineering disciplines considered an asset.
Holds a valid drivers’ license.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 6 years of water engineering related work experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer desired.
